Louise Bowes

Published January 2, 2018 by Jonathan Burrows

I started going fishing in my late teens. To start with I began fishing for anything with a float or ledger rod and was happy catching silver fish and tench. Then one day I went to a local canal and caught my first carp. It wasn’t huge but it gave me such a buzz that I had to go back for more. That was me hooked.

Family life took over and after a long break I was keen to get back out there. A few years ago I went back to a lake I had fished many years earlier. It had matured, as had I, and the fish had come on in size. I was soon getting amongst them again and I haven’t looked back since.

Working full time in a school my fishing is limited to one night at the weekend and some longer sessions during the school holidays. I love being out there and catching is a bonus. No matter what size the fish is I still get that buzz.

I have been fortunate to join a syndicate with some very special fish in it and have managed to catch fish fairly consistently since being on there.
